Description and diagnostic features
It is a crawling little plant with leaves more or less penny size and shape. At every node in the runner one leaf on a thin stalk arises and roots grow down.

Uses
- Cooked as a food especially in the Eastern Cape where women mix it with their maize meal porridge. It helps overcome constipation.
- It is also a great tonic and in tincture form it is used in water to reverse arthritis of the knuckles in the hands. The swollen knuckles can be relieved and the fingers will even straiten.
- I love three fresh leaves eaten daily when they are available.

It grows easily from stolons.
